The Sangam Silks is a sole proprietorship business registered in India, dealing in Banarasi silk sarees and suits, sourced directly from karkhana weaving families in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

2. Eligibility

By using this Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age or are accessing the Site under the supervision of a parent/legal guardian, and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

3. Products & Pricing

  • All products displayed are subject to availability. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify any product without prior notice.
  • Product colours may vary slightly from images displayed due to screen/display settings, lighting during photography, and the natural variation inherent in handwoven fabrics.
  • Prices are listed in INR (₹) for domestic orders and may be displayed in other currencies for international customers at prevailing exchange rates; the final charged amount is determined at checkout.
  • All prices are inclusive of applicable GST unless stated otherwise.
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors, even after an order is placed, and will notify the customer before processing in such cases.

4. Order Acceptance

  • Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase; acceptance occurs only when we confirm the order via email/SMS/WhatsApp.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our sole discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, stock unavailability, or violation of these Terms. Where payment has already been captured, a full refund will be issued.

5. Dispatch & Delivery

  • Dispatch Time: Orders are dispatched within 1 to 4 business days of order confirmation.
  • Shipping/Transit Time: Delivery typically takes 1 to 7 business days after dispatch, depending on the destination.

6. Payments

  • We accept payments via credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking, and other methods enabled through our payment gateway partners, as well as Cash on Delivery (COD) where available.
  • All online payments are processed through secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment gateways. The Sangam Silks does not store your complete card details.
  • In the event of a failed transaction where the amount is debited, the amount will be auto-reversed by the payment gateway/bank within 5–7 business days.

7. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

All returns, exchanges, refunds, and cancellations are governed by our separate [Return & Refund Policy], which forms part of these Terms. In summary: returns must be initiated within 4 days of delivery; no returns or exchanges are accepted thereafter, except for verified damaged/defective/wrong items.

8. Intellectual Property

  • All content on this Site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, product photography, and design elements, is the exclusive property of The Sangam Silks and is protected under Indian and international copyright/trademark laws.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content from this Site for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

10. User Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

11. Reviews & User-Generated Content

By submitting a product review, photo, or other content, you grant The Sangam Silks a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, and display such content for marketing and promotional purposes. We reserve the right to remove any content deemed inappropriate, false, or in violation of these Terms.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Sangam Silks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, our products or Site.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant product.
  • We are not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including natural disasters, strikes, courier delays, or government restrictions.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

Products are sold "as is." While we take utmost care in quality control given the handwoven and artisanal nature of our products, minor variations in weave, colour, and texture are natural characteristics of handloom textiles and do not constitute defects.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Sangam Silks, its proprietor, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

15. Third-Party Links & Services

Our Site may integrate with third-party services (Shopify, payment gateways, courier partners, social media). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third parties.

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India, regardless of the customer's location.

17. Dispute Resolution

We encourage customers to first reach out to our support team to resolve any grievance amicably. Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with a sole arbitrator appointed mutually, seated in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and conducted in English.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
