Most of our sarees start with us : the motif, the palette, the border, the zari placement, refined and handed to karkhana weaving families in Varanasi to bring to the loom. No wholesaler in between, no picking from a pile of someone else's finished stock. It's design led by us, woven by generations of skill.

Why do your prices look almost too reasonable for Pure Katan Silk?
Because there's no one standing between you and the weaver. Most Banarasi silk changes hands three or four times: weaver to wholesaler to distributor to store, and each hand adds its own margin. We buy directly from karkhana weaving families in Varanasi, so the price you see is close to what the saree actually costs to make. The quality is premium; the markup isn't.
What exactly is a "karkhana," and why does it matter?
A karkhana is a small family-run weaving unit, often just a handloom or two, set up in a home, passed down for generations. It's the opposite of a factory floor. When we say a saree comes from a karkhana, we mean it was woven by someone whose family has likely been weaving Banarasi silk for decades, not stitched together in mass production. Where a saree is Pure Katan Silk, handwoven, or handloom, we say so plainly, and only then.
Why don't you run sales, discounts, or "limited time" offers?
Because our prices aren't inflated to begin with. A saree that's been marked up 3x can afford a 40% off sale and still profit. Ours can't, because we've already priced it close to the source. We'd rather earn your trust with a fair number every day than a fake one for 48 hours.
How long does it actually take to weave one saree?
Depending on the complexity of the zari work and weave, a single Pure Katan Silk saree can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks on the loom. It's worth knowing this before you compare it to a machine-made piece that takes minutes. The price difference isn't arbitrary; it's the difference between a craft and a printout.
If the prices are this fair, what's the catch?
No catch, just a smaller margin than most brands are comfortable with. We're not a large retail house with a showroom and staff to support. We're a direct link between karkhana families and people who want genuine Banarasi silk without paying for three middlemen. That's the whole model.
Why do some sarees look similar but cost noticeably different amounts?
Fabric tier matters more than most people realize. Pure Katan Silk, semi-pure, and blended silk all drape and photograph beautifully, but they differ in raw material cost, weaving time, and longevity. We label every saree's exact composition so the price difference always makes sense. You're never guessing what you're paying for.
